- This was requested due to the large number of inquiries to VoTC from the public. People were wondering precisely what the Thorhild County residents got for their $100,000 budget for the Land Use Bylaw (LUB) rewrite. There were many comments that since the LUB project was a failure, that we, the Thorhild County taxpayers, should get a refund. People wanted to know what the terms of the contract were, precisely what was expected of the contractor GSA in their design, who made the suggestions for the excessive restrictions (The County, or GSA), and whether GSA would continue to be involved in this project moving forward.

- This information was requested, again to see if the ratepayers are getting what we pay for as far as performance from our CAO. Because the CAO contract was not posted on the County website, ratepayers wanted more specifics about compensation, benefits, expectations etc. As you will find in the contract, our current CAO’s base salary is $209,500 plus benefits, bringing it to about $249k. - David Blades/Carol Revega Contracts – These requests were submitted for much the same reason as the CAO’s. For many people, having been disconnected from the municipal government process for too long, the Land Use Bylaw rewrite brought up many questions. Getting a full picture about where our tax dollars were being spent, particularly on the actors involved, was important.

- Pecuniary Interest – This FOIP request was done by a resident because there was question about the process of Councillors voting on matters for which they had a pecuniary interest. In this case it was in relation to the gravel tenders, while one of the council members is an employee of a local gravel company.

- This information was requested to determine two things. Firstly, the cost of the CPAA conference as it was stated in the Feb 23 council meeting that the cost was unknown prior to Council voting that day to approve attendance. And secondly, to confirm the registration date. The confirmation indicates that registration and payment was received on Feb 22, the day before Council voted to allow the Reeve to attend the conference.
