The Emergency Services Bylaw 10-2022 was discussed at length. It was pointed out that this is not the first version of this bylaw that contains clauses requiring landowners to pay for firefighting services. Council members disclosed that they have had a number of discussions with residents regarding the bylaw. In the end, they opted to arrange a Town Hall meeting for May 30, 2023 @ 1900 hrs (7pm). Location TBD. This meeting will be advertised by mail to each property owner, through social media platforms, and in the Redwater Review.

Council is directing Administration to apply to the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program, Rural Renewal Stream, Community Designation.

Also, Council voted to direct Reeve Joyce Pierce and Administration to have further discussions with Canada Post regarding the Radway Post Office. Here’s hoping the agree on a way to keep it open for the residents of Radway and surrounding area!
